Coronavirus: China ‘harvesting organs from detained Muslims’ to treat patients

An investigative journalist has claimed that more than 3m of China’s Uyghur Muslim minority – currently detained in camps – face being used as a “kill-on-demand” emergency measureSHARE

China is illegally harvesting the organs of Muslims held in detention camps to treat its coronavirus patients, an investigative reporter has sensationally claimed.

More than 3m Uyghur Muslims – mostly in the western Chinese province of Xinjiang – are alleged to be held currently in so-called “reeducation camps” run by authorities.

Now investigative journalist CJ Werleman has claimed that China is meeting the massive demand for organ transplants as a result of the coronavirus crisis by harvesting them from Uyghur Muslims.

This isn’t the first time it’s been alleged China is harvesting organs from detained Muslims.

Last September, it was reported that hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs may have been killed in this horrifying practice.

Writing in the independent news publication Byline Times, Werleman described the case of a Chinese coronavirus patient receiving the first double lung transplant in the country last week.

The 59-year-old had been given just days to live after suffering irreversible pulmonary damage after contracting COVID-19.

Werleman explained: “The fact that the patient had to wait a mere five days for a ‘consenting’ donor to provide a perfect matching set of lungs, raises further questions about the scale and scope of the country’s illegal forced organ harvesting program.”
