Getty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now human right monitors are asking how the two matching lungs needed for the 59-year-old&#8217;s life-saving surgery were found so quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The campaigning magazine&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bitterwinter.org\/is-coronavirus-increasing-organ-harvesting-in-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bitter Winter writes<\/a>: &#8220;The fact that two matching lungs were found in a few days raises new suspicions of organ harvesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The patient, who on February 24th, was given days to live&#8230;had only to wait a matter of five days before a perfectly matching, &#8216;consenting&#8217;,&nbsp; brain-dead donor could be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Whilst around the world waiting times for a single lung from a suitable donor could be years, China has shown this week that it need only be days, for two perfectly matched lungs to be rustled up.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reports of the life-saving operation were big news in China and made the front pages of many state-backed papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, one investigative journalist has now claimed there are fears&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/9977295\/drone-footage-chinese-police-moving-hundreds-blindfolded-shackled-prisoners-re-education-camps\/\">detained Uyghur muslims<\/a>&nbsp;were &#8220;being used as a kill-on-demand emergency backstop for Chinese coronavirus patients&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bylinetimes.com\/2020\/03\/10\/are-uyghur-muslims-organs-being-illegally-removed-to-save-chinas-coronavirus-patients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CJ&nbsp;Werleman wrote<\/a>: &#8220;The fact that the patient had to wait a mere five days for a &#8216;consenting&#8217; donor to provide a perfect matching set of lungs, raises further questions about the scale and scope of the country&#8217;s illegal forced organ harvesting programme.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014 China vowed it would no longer remove organs for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/7570349\/china-muslim-prison-camps\/\">&nbsp;transplantation from executed prisoners<\/a>&nbsp;but some observers fear they may have never stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/11147059\/fears-china-executing-muslim-prisoners-organs-coronavirus\/#\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/NINTCHDBPICT000542518975.jpg\" alt=\" State prisoners used to account for two-thirds of transplant organs in China\"\/><\/a><figcaption>State prisoners used to account for two-thirds of transplant organs in ChinaCredit: AP:Associated Press<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/AD-Coronavirus-Paper-Graphic.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/AD-Coronavirus-Paper-Graphic.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time it was estimated inmates accounted for two-thirds of all transplant organs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revelations of the new transplant op are also particularly suspicious as only one in every two million citizens in China is reportedly a donor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s not the first time China has been accused of harvesting organs from state detainees.An independent tribunal sitting in London last July concluded the killing of inmates for transplants was a continuing problem and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/6312138\/muslim-prisoners-china-punished-anti-islam\/\">&nbsp;victims include followers<\/a>&nbsp;of the Falun Gong movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The China Tribunal, chaired by Sir Geoffrey Nice QC, stated it was \u201ccertain that Falun Gong as a source &#8211; probably the principal source &#8211; of organs for forced organ harvesting\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added: \u201cThere is no evidence of the practice having been stopped and the tribunal is satisfied that it is continuing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last February,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/8376669\/chinese-prison-experiment-organ-harvesting\/\">the Sun Online reported<\/a>&nbsp;how the organs of hundreds of executed prisoners had been harvested by scientists and used in sick scientific experiments in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a world-first study, experts uncovered more than 400 dodgy organ transplants carried out between 2000 and 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They believe scientists carrying out the experiments used hearts, lungs or livers taken from dead prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Illegal and secret organ transplants are a big problem all across China, it&#8217;s been reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the government says 10,000 transplants occur each year, hospital data shows this number is actually closer to 70,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts suspect that prisoners of conscience are the main source of the nearly 60,000 illegal transplants that are carried out each year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon Lockett 11 Mar 2020,&nbsp;12:22 Updated: 11 Mar 2020,&nbsp;12:23 https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/11147059\/fears-china-executing-muslim-prisoners-organs-coronavirus\/ THERE are growing fears China is executing muslim prisoners so they can harvest their organs &hellip;
